YOGA: HATHA This class will offer a combination of yoga postures. Expect a good workout and a little breath work. Some restorative poses will be included. We will end the class with a long Shavasana to prepare for the week ahead – good to heal any body aches from the weekend activity.
YOGA: BEGINNER You will practice the importance of alignment, breathing techniques, and learn the basic postures. An emphasis is placed on non-judgment while you get to know your body. Individual attention is available (if you like) and questions are encouraged. Laughter is anticipated. You will have the opportunity, in a safe environment, to gain flexibility, improve balance, and create more energy. You may find ways to have less stress in your life and a greater compassion for yourself. Class closes with Shavasana.
YOGA: ADVANCED BEGINNER If you feel comfortable and confident moving through basic poses, this is most likely for you. The poses will flow from one to another more quickly than with a beginner class. Expect to practice the basic poses, but with some challenging poses added into the mix that require more strength, flexibility, and balance such as Half Moon, the arm balance, Crow, and Standing Split. The fun is in experimenting with some postures you may not be trying at home.
YOGA: FLOW Postures are linked together with breath creating a “flow” of postures that lead from one to another. This is a slightly more energetic form of yoga that allows students to experience a variety of sensations in the body. Willingness to try new things and to laugh at yourself is recommended.
YOGA: VINYASA In this Vinyasa flow-style class we will practice linking breath with movement through a changing sequence of both challenging and calming poses. Beginners and experienced practitioners of yoga are welcome! Come as you are.
YOGA: RESTORATIVE Get intrigued with how stillness creates room. Restorative yoga, as well as other disciplines of yoga, allows us room to see clearly and to find our natural state, and heal. In this sequence, we will focus on releasing tension in the hips while creating space throughout the body using props. An emphasis will also be placed on the areas of the neck and shoulders to facilitate restful sleep.Class will begin and end with shavasana.
